Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth has become one of the company’s top-tier flagship characters, against all odds. Originally introduced in Rob Liefeld’s New Mutants as a blatant copy of DC’s Deathstroke, Wade Wilson soon came into his own identity as a wisecracking, fourth wall breaking contract killer with a hyperactive healing factor and an imagination to match. There are a ton of Deadpool toys on the market — two hit movies will do that for you — and here are the absolute must-haves.
Hot Toys Deadpool 2 Figure
Hong Kong-based studio Hot Toys is one of our go-tos for extremely high end figures, as their 1/6 scale sculpt process results in incredibly poseable, crazily detailed figs that stand a foot tall. Their Deadpool is an absolute master class, replicating Ryan Reynolds’ costume from the movies in exacting fashion. The mask features five interchangeable eyepieces for a variety of facial expressions, the uniform is tailored fabric, and he comes with an unbelievable amount of accessories. Weapons like pistols, daggers and swords? You got it, but also an X-Men Trainee jersey, a toy unicorn and a pair of high heels he can actually wear. That’s wild.
Deadpool Vs. The World
One of the iconic elements of Deadpool comics is his internal monologue, usually expressed in the form of yellow-tinted caption boxes. If you’ve ever wanted to live in the demented mind of Wade Wilson, this irresistible party game is your best opportunity. Three or more players draw caption cards and attempt to come up with the funniest way to fill in the blanks and describe the scene pictured on the accompanying WTF card. It’s a fast-paced and funny card game that might just polish your skills enough to get a job at Marvel. Don’t hold us to that, though.
Tamashii Nations Meisho Manga Deadpool
The Meisho Manga collection from Bandai’s Tamashii Nation lines is one of our favorite bizarre concepts — it takes Western superheroes from Marvel and DC and reimagines them as historic Japanese warriors. It shouldn’t work, but it does. Wade Wilson gets the full samurai treatment, wielding a pair of flintlock pistols as well as a pair of katana swords. The sculpt by Takayuki Takeya is imaginative and cool, and it comes with the expected loadout of alternate parts for customization. Lots of articulation and a solid build as well.
Deadpool Sofubi Figure
If you’re not familiar with sofubi, they’re a strain of Japanese vinyl figures that have been produced for over 60 years. In the states, they were probably best represented by LJN’s classic WWF figures, but Japan tackles all sorts of franchises with them, from giant monsters like Godzilla to the sentai shows that came over here as Power Rangers. Medicom has started giving Western properties the treatment, too, and our boy Deadpool looks pretty hilarious as a chunky little rubber buddy who could wrestle with your vintage Captain Lou Albano.
Deadpool’s Rainbow Squad Figures
When Wade Wilson can’t do it alone, he calls in some backup. D-list Marvel characters Solo, Terror, Slapstick and Foolkiller get roped into becoming the Rainbow Squad. Surely this couldn’t just be a craven attempt to milk money from collectors by using the same sculpt in five different plastic colors, right? So what if it is! What could be more in the spirit of Deadpool? Each figure stands 6 inches tall and comes with a katana, pistol and combat knife.
Revoltech Deadpool X-Force Figure
While the iconic black and red is what you normally see the Merc with a Mouth in, he does have some other styles in his closet. When he was recruited by Logan to serve in the covert action team X-Force, he traded in the attention-getting duds for something a little more subdued to coordinate with the other members. This high-end figure from Kaiyodo’s Revoltech line is built with that company’s obsessive attention to poseability, with 17 points of articulation including accordion joints in the lower torso allowing you to put him in a bunch of action stances. Six replacement hands, two heads and a bunch of weapons fill out the package.
Deadpool With Unicorn Plush
For a sociopathic murderer with a body count as long as Infinite Jest, Deadpool is a total softie at heart. His love for cuddling and unicorns is well-known, and now you can bring him into the snuggle zone with this 7″ tall plush from Kidrobot’s PHUNNY line. The soft and fuzzy mercenary is the perfect size for a desk accessory or shelf topper – sadly, they don’t make these in life size. How can you resist that beatific stitched smile?
Lady Deadpool Resin Statue
The Marvel Multiverse is a place of infinite possibilities, where every insane concept you could ever come up with is real somewhere. And that means that there’s a female Deadpool, because why not? Lady Deadpool was introduced in 2010 — she’s Wanda Wilson, a resident of Earth-3010, a world where fascist elements in the U.S. government cracked down so hard that the people rose up in rebellion. While our Deadpool was on a dimension-hopping jaunt he met his female counterpart, which was exactly as awkward as you might think. This sweet statue from Diamond Select stands a foot high and is sculpted by Alejandro Pereira.
Deadpool Bob Ross Funko Pop
There are few feel-good stories in Hollywood quite as nice as Ryan Reynolds finally getting to make the Deadpool movies he always dreamed about. The dude stuck to his vision and created a box office juggernaut that didn’t compromise on the violence and cuss words while still staying fresh and funny. Hell, even the commercials and viral clips he made to promote them have become their own memes, like the Bob Ross cosplay he donned for Deadpool 2. Keep your eyes on the happy little trees. There are ninjas in them. There are always ninjas in them.
NECA Ultimate Deadpool Figure
Standing a whopping 18 inches tall, this is the beefiest Deadpool figure on the market. And that extra real estate lets NECA pack the surface with an absurd amount of detailing. Deadpool has 30 points of articulation around a stable, well-crafted frame, and the paint job is out of this world, especially on the variant heads. There’s a Marvel Zombies one with exposed brain, an unmasked Wade and a regulation mask. The accessories are equally demented – in addition to swords and guns (that fit in the holsters and sheaths!) you get a unicorn, a chimichanga, and a dollop of melted pizza cheese that fits perfectly on his head.
Deadpool Pinball Machine
How big a Deadpool fan are you really? Big enough to drop seven and a half large on an arcade-quality Deadpool pinball machine? Yeah, the action figures are cool and all but can you imagine the clout you’d get from having this bad boy in your game room or garage? Made by industry leaders Stern, the Deadpool table boasts dual ramps, a bank of drop targets that guard a mini Deadpool bumper, and a dialogue script written by super-awesome comedian and metalhead Brian Posehn. Hit targets to enable Battles and Quests to activate multiball, rack up big points and more.
